Membership FAQ

Do you take insurance?

The monthly Mahmee Membership fee is not covered by insurance. However, some Mahmee telemedical and in-home healthcare services may be covered by your insurer depending on your particular health insurance plan and whether you have met your deductible. All payments for services must be made at time of booking. If you book a qualifying service through Mahmee (e.g. Lactation consultation), you may request a superbill at the end of the appointment. It is your responsibility to sign and submit the superbill for reimbursement, and your insurer will determine whether a reimbursement will be issued to you.

What if I want to change or cancel my membership?

You may upgrade, downgrade or cancel your membership at any time.  If you change or cancel before the end of your current, paid membership period, you will continue to have full access at that level of membership until the next payment would have been due, at which point your membership will become inactive or change to the new membership level. 

Will you replace my pediatrician or OB/GYN?

We will not replace your primary care providers. Mahmee offers complimentary healthcare services for new moms and infants. Our goal is to enhance the healthcare experience for new moms and their families by providing ongoing support between your visits to the doctor’s office. We’re here to answer questions when your doctor isn’t, and to connect the dots with you so that you are better informed and prepared for your next appointment.

Who is in the provider network? And, who will be helping me?

We specialize in postpartum healthcare offered by a network of care providers including registered nurses, international board certified location consultants, registered dietician nutritionists, and other trained clinicians. Mahmee’s clinical operations are overseen by a medical advisory board of pediatricians, obstetricians and other physician specialists.

Why did you start this company?

We started Mahmee after speaking with thousands of women and hundreds of care providers about what would make the transition from pregnancy to new motherhood a more positive and empowering experience. Every new mother’s experience is different and we wanted to build a company that truly respects that notion. We realized that by using new technology we could create a very personalized support system for each mom and baby, and that is how we began building Mahmee.
